How long do you think this machine will last before majority of app developer drop support for it? Since Big Sur is the last update mid 2014 iMac will get. Say if one day I don’t want to use it as a Mac OS anymore, can I format it and use as normal hard drive for storing files and stuff?
(Personally I would choose Sandisk one because I don’t have to worry about if the enclosure I buy will be compatible with the SSD) Is there a reason for that? Because I saw Samsung Evo 870 and the Sandisk extreme both to be around the same price. Seem like some people choose an SSD pair with the SSD enclosure instead of using a portable SSD that is in one piece (like Sandisk extreme). I’ll been researching on the internet for awhile now, but I’m still not fully understand with how this works so some of my questions might sound a bit dumb.
